We were sooo very impressed by this 16th century castle which is dubbed The Ladies&#8217; Ch\u00e2teau due to the involvement of numerous women in its construction and history. It was a beautiful day, perfect for photos and for walking in the gardens and surrounding forest. This one was a favorite of his. I will try to give more history when I&#8217;m not basically texting all of this on my tablet&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>One more note though: The motto of the husband and wife who built Chenonceau was <em>S&#8217;il vient a point, me souviendra.<\/em> Basically it means &#8220;If I make it to the end of this construction job, I will be remembered.&#8221; Marty is seriously considering posting this sentiment on his garage. \u263a<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We spent most of the day yesterday at Chenonceau.
