{"id":109,"date":"2012-07-01T06:14:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-01T06:14:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/griffysherlock.wordpress.com\/?p=109"},"modified":"2013-12-27T07:20:58","modified_gmt":"2013-12-27T07:20:58","slug":"versaillis-and-travel-day-to-paris","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.griffy-sherlock.com\/homepage\/2012\/07\/01\/versaillis-and-travel-day-to-paris\/","title":{"rendered":"Versaillis and travel day to Paris"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We were up at 5:30 and out the door of our place at Bayeux at 6:20 am.\u00a0 We are on our way to Versailis which is 3 hours drive.\u00a0 We are going to the palace of versaillis.\u00a0 From there we will be driving into Paris and going to the apartment we have rented and then drop off the rental car in Paris.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>That all sounds easy.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p>We got into Versaillis at the perfect time.\u00a0 Bunny had set up a tour so we were able to walk by a huge line and into a waiting area and the tour started 15 mins later.\u00a0<br \/>\nIt was a tour of the bedrooms of Louis the XIV and Marie Antoinet.\u00a0<br \/>\nWhen that tour was over we then toured other parts of the palace such as the hall of mirrors.\u00a0 There were TONS of people going thru this place.\u00a0 At around 1pm we determined we had seen enough and we went looking for a place to eat lunch.\u00a0 Before we found a place to stop at we were on the freeway to Paris so we figured we would find the apartment and park and then find a place to eat.\u00a0<br \/>\nWell driving on the streets of Paris is difficult and exciting athe same time.\u00a0 There really doesnt seem to be many traffic laws in Paris.\u00a0 Or at least they are not adhered to or enforced.\u00a0 We had someone reach out of his car and bang on the side of the car and several motorcyclist cus at us in french.\u00a0<br \/>\nWe had finally found the street we needed to turn onto .. we got into one of those whirl gigs and i missed it the first time by.\u00a0 The next time around the policehad coordoned off that road.\u00a0 So we went to the next street over and the police had cordoned off that one also.\u00a0 We kept trying to turn towards our apartment and kept finding that the police had closed that road.\u00a0 We made a big circle and tried to come down to the apartment from the other direction.\u00a0 We finally found a parking spot which we thoight was close to our apartment.\u00a0 We got out of the van and then realized that we had parked right in front of the apartment.\u00a0 There was a little sidewalk cafe right there and we sat down and the kids had hambergurs and we called the apartment owner to come down and lets us in the apartment.\u00a0<br \/>\nWe settled into the apartment.\u00a0 What a spectacular view.\u00a0 We can see the Effiel Tower from the balcony.\u00a0 <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.griffy-sherlock.com\/pictures\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/wpid-06301215141.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"0630121514.jpg\" class=\"alignnone\" alt=\"image\" src=\"http:\/\/www.griffy-sherlock.com\/pictures\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/wpid-0630121514.jpg\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes this is the view from our balcony!!!!!<\/p>\n<p>WOW &#8230;\u00a0 Well the van has to be back by 6 pm so we left at 4:40 to get it back &#8230;
