- The attraction at Mesa Verde is the history of some of the original Americans. The history goes back 15000 to 10000 years as man progressed from hunting and living on the to of the Mesa to building clay structures in the side of the Mesa. The development goes from making simple dwellings 1500 years ago to developing 5 and 6 story complex structures.
